What we collect

Your account

Your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with our sign-in provider.

Your resume and profile

The resume file you upload, the text we read from it, and the career profile built from it: job titles, skills, experience, location, and the roles, places and work arrangements you're looking for.

Application details

Answers you choose to save for job applications, such as your phone number, links, work authorization, whether you need visa sponsorship, notice period and salary expectation. We don't accept passwords, government ID numbers or payment details, and the form rejects them.

What you do in Roleget

Jobs you save, hide or mark as applied; your applications, their status, notes and dates; saved searches; tailored resumes, cover letters and application answers you create; and jobs you suggest to, or receive from, other people.

Emails

When we email you, we may record whether the email was delivered and opened, and which links in it you clicked. We use this to tell whether alerts are useful and arriving.

Technical information

A record of actions in the app (for example, "resume uploaded" or "match computed"), error reports, and the standard request logs our hosting provider keeps, which include IP addresses and browser details.

How we use it

• To build your profile and find, rate and explain jobs that fit you.
• To write tailored resumes, cover letters and application answers when you ask for them.
• To send the emails you've turned on: job alerts, saved search results, reminders and a weekly summary.
• To keep the service working, fix problems and understand which features help.

We only use your data to run Roleget for you. We don't sell it, rent it, or share it with employers or recruiters. Roleget never submits a job application on your behalf; you do that yourself on the employer's site.

AI processing

Reading your resume, rating jobs against your profile, and drafting tailored resumes, cover letters and answers are done with AI models from Anthropic. To do this we send Anthropic the relevant text: your resume, profile and the job description. Anthropic processes it to return results to us and, under its commercial terms, does not use it to train its models. Anything Roleget writes for you is shown to you to review before you use it.

Who helps us run Roleget

We use these service providers, and they only process your data to provide their service to us:

• Clerk for sign-in and account security.
• Vercel to host the app and to store resume files privately.
• Neon for our database.
• Anthropic for the AI processing described above.
• Resend to send email.
• Cloudflare for our domain's DNS.

Job listings come from public job boards and company career pages. We fetch listings from them; we don't send them anything about you. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.

Your data is stored and processed in the United States. Emails are sent through Resend's servers in Ireland.

What other people can see

Roleget lets signed-in users suggest jobs to each other by email address. If someone enters your email address, they can see that you have a Roleget account and your name, and the jobs they send appear in your Alerts. Nothing else about you is shown to other users.

Roleget's operator can see account information to provide support, fix problems and keep the service running.

Cookies

We use cookies that keep you signed in, set by our sign-in provider, and one Roleget cookie that remembers which tips you've dismissed. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account, resume files, profile and everything linked to it within 30 days. Copies in our providers' backups expire on their own schedule after that.

Your choices

• You can view and edit your profile and application details at any time on your Profile page.
• You can change or turn off job alerts, reminders and the weekly email from your Profile page or from the link in any of those emails.
• You can ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be corrected or deleted, by emailing hello@roleget.com.

We'll respond to any of these requests, from anyone, wherever you live.

Security

Resume files are stored privately and are only served to you when you're signed in. Data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care to protect what you share and to collect no more than Roleget needs.

Children

Roleget is not for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If a change affects how we use data you've already given us, we'll tell you by email first.
